Term Ends: Friday, March 01, 2019

About:

Kathy Lenz is a Northeast Wyoming native and a life-long entrepreneur who, with her husband Steve, has owned and operated nine businesses. At 19 years of age Kathy purchased her first business (The Flower & Gift Boutique) and tells the story of overcoming the biggest obstacle of being too young to legally sign for and purchase a business in the State of Wyoming.

With three children and seven grandchildren living and working in the Sundance area, Kathy has shared with her family her great love of the outdoors and adventures in the Black Hills of Wyoming. Three decades have been filled with ample family time on the water and snowy slopes, hiking, mountain biking, and appreciating Wyoming’s outdoor diversity.

Next to her family, Kathy has a deep love for her community. She has served in numerous community organizations and on several philanthropic boards; including twenty years as President of the Crook County Medical Services District Foundation Board, Vice-President of a private foundation and the current President of the Wyoming Association of Clerks and Treasurers. As the City of Sundance Clerk/Treasurer, Kathy has written and received over $20 million dollars in grants for the Sundance community. Through her efforts and partnerships with the local agencies and stakeholders, Sundance became the smallest town to achieve a Wyoming Main Street Affiliate community award.
