Volunteer Opportunities

SPHS Volunteer Coordinator

Current openings

Volunteer opportunities are available at all Wyoming State Parks and Historic Sites during the months of May through October.

The State Museum Volunteers Inc. currently has about 40 members. However, we are always looking for new volunteers to work at the information desk. Information Desk shifts are 3 1/2 hours. Volunteers greet guests, inform them of special museum exhibits and events, and answer visitor questions.

Volunteer opportunities are also available in Archives, Collections, and Education, however, these openings are on an as-needed basis. The museum's volunteer liaison would be happy to meet with you to discuss possible openings. You may contact Sarah Ligocki, Education Curator and Volunteer Liaison, at 777-7021.

Why volunteer?

By being a volunteer in Wyoming State Parks & Historic Sites YOU can make a difference by getting involved in stewardship of Wyoming's rich natural resources and historic treasures. Your personal expertise can be used to benefit a wide variety of tasks necessary to maintain and preserve Wyoming's history and resources for the future.

By volunteering at the Wyoming State Museum, you may:

  • Work behind the scenes
  • Learn from museum professionals
  • Interact with the public
  • Share through community outreach
  • Select weekday or Saturday shifts

How to apply

To volunteer at SPHS, downoad the SPHS Volunteer Application PDF and the Handbook PDF or contact SPHS Headquarters at 307.777.8557 or email Paul Gritten.
