Every year, the University of Wyoming Archaeological Repository and the Office of the
Wyoming State Archaeologist put together a display in the Wyoming State Museum
based on the theme of that year’s poster. This years’ Wyoming Archaeology Awareness
Month display focuses on some of the more recent artifacts found in the ice patches of
Wyoming and how archaeologists, curators, and conservators are working together to
preserve these often delicate artifacts.
On September 24, the traveling “Archaeology Out of Ice”, curated by Craig Lee of
INSTAAR (the Institute for Arctic and Alpine Research), will join the existing display and
remain at the Wyoming State Museum until mid-August 2019.
