Governor's Capitol Art Exhibition reception scheduled for March 8

Some of Wyoming’s finest artists will be recognized during the 2018 Governor’s Capitol Art Exhibition reception at the Wyoming State Museum Thursday, March 8 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The works of 30 artists representing 11 Wyoming counties are included in this year’s Governor’s Capitol Art Exhibition.

Now in its 18th year, the juried exhibition will be on display from March 5 through June 5 at the Wyoming State Museum in Cheyenne. Works receiving purchase awards will join the museum's prestigious art collections.

Works receiving purchase awards, people’s choice award, Governor’s choice award and Bobby Hathaway juror’s choice award will be announced during the reception. All works in the exhibition are for sale.

Sponsors of the 2018 Governor’s Capitol Art Exhibition are Levin Strategic Resources, Danielmarks Brewing Company, the Nagle Warren Mansion, and The Matthew and Virgie O. Dragicevich Wyoming Foundation.

The Wyoming State Museum is located in the Barrett Building, 2301 Central Avenue in Cheyenne. The State Museum is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free.
